 Currently, the 12th generation of Altis is available in the international market, which is designed and built on the Toyota New Global Architecture Platform. The 2021 Corolla Altis is lengthier than previous models, and it is more aerodynamic, but the launch of the 2021 Toyota Corolla Altis has not yet taken place in Pakistan. Indus Motors Pakistan has been looking forward to releasing a new model of Corolla-Altis in mid of 2021 and expected the new Altis launch as a Corolla X package. The Corolla X package features newly designed headlights and rear lights and the modified A.C vents inside the cabin. Facelift changes will also be introduced in it with minor updates, including interior cosmetic modifications and a newly introduced body kit. Bookings for the upcoming Corolla model have not started yet, and last year’s 11th generation model is still the latest option to purchase at the Toyota showrooms.

Trims & versions:

The latest available Toyota Corolla Altis in markets comes in two trim levels that include the Altis 1.6 and Altis 1.8 Grande. The Altis 1.6 is available in the 6-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmission, and the Altis 1.8 Grande is available in the 6-speed manual and 7-speed CVT-i with paddle shifters. The Toyota Corolla Altis Grande is the higher-end variant of Altis powered with a water-cooled 1800cc engine and provided with features such as; vehicle stability control features, traction control, front and rear cameras for parking, multifunctional steering wheel design, and 4.2 inches TFT multicolor information display for drivers. The 1.6 Altis features an Anti-lock Braking system, electronic brake-force distribution, rear camera, LED rear lamps, and simple steering wheel design.

 

Engine & Power:

The 1.6 Altis (1598 cc) DOHC sixteen-valves dual VVT-i petrol engine produces a 120 horsepower and torque of 154Nm. It gives you options of a five-speed manual and four-speed automatic transmission. The Altis 1.8 Grande (1800 cc) DOHC sixteen-valve dual VVT-i engine produces 138 horsepower and torque of 173 Nm. The manual version Altis Grande has a six-speed manual transmission choice, while the CVT option is also available.

Performance & Drive:

Toyota Corolla Altis is a high-performance car that gives you the front-wheel-drive feature and good pickup. Altis gives you overall good performance and better driving maneuvers as compared to other models. The transmissions of both the trims are precise with smooth throttle changes, and even the Continuously Varying Transmission shifts like a normal torque-converter keeping the overall performance commendable. 

 

The handling of the Toyota Corolla Altis is admirable and makes it easy to handle the car tidily even at higher speeds with minimum body roll. The electric power-assisted steering wheel is lighter than before, which gives extra confidence to the drivers, especially when turning the car around smoothly. Along with confidence in the drivers, its tweaked suspension ensures softer jerk-free maneuvers and ride. The steering wheel is improved further to work better at higher speeds, so there should not be any hesitation when doing a risky turn. The braking system of Altis is improved as well, because of which you don’t get a spongy feel when touching the pedal for applying brakes. The engine noise is extinguished now so you can enjoy a comfortable ride, but the outside noise requires further subdue to make the ride even more comfortable at higher speeds. The engine feel of Altis is responsive, and power delivery is smooth and linear. You can drive it efficiently in city traffic by its adequate amount of torque at lower RPM. The acceleration power is not deficient either that takes the car from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 10 seconds with a maximum speed of 240 kilometers per hour. Fuel economy: The automatic transmission gives you a mileage of 10-11 kilometers per liter in the city and 14 kilometers per liter on highways with a fuel tank capacity of 55 liters. The manually driven Altis gives improved mileage ranges giving you 12 kilometers per liter in the city and 16 kilometers per liter on the highways.

Exterior Design and features:

The exterior design of the Toyota Corolla Altis is quite impressive and looks sporty. The headlights are slimmer than before, and a C-shaped element is visible around the fog lamps. The front grille is Bigger and more dominating, and the higher-end trims feature halogen headlamps with mud flaps, rear LED taillights, side skirts, LED clearance lamps, fog lights, and cameras at the front and back. The rear end is more comprehensive with sharper bumpers, and taillight design, and sixteen-inches alloy wheels that give an impressive stance to the customers.
